Next Generation Women in Law
Join the conversation and be part of the network.
The place for women in the profession to meet, talk openly about work, life in law, and support each other to navigate pressure, make clearer career decisions, and build working lives that are sustainable as well as successful.
What This Is
This is not a networking event. This is a network.
This is the beginning of a movement.
Next Generation Women in Law is a new community for women who work in and around the legal profession, created to offer connection, support, and space for real conversations about what it takes to lead, live, and succeed in systems not built for us.
We’re starting with this first in-person breakfast.
But this isn’t a one-off.
It’s the launch of something we’ll build together, with quarterly in-person conversations and monthly online sessions, with experts on the things that really matter to us, joining to continue the conversation and deepen our connection.
If you’ve ever felt like you have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously…
If you’ve made it on paper but feel like something got lost along the way…
If you’re questioning whether success has to look like this…
You’re not alone.
This community is for you.
Our legal culture hasn’t yet caught up with what women need to thrive.
Too many of us feel isolated, even at the top and we’re tired of pretending we have it all together.
If we want real change, it starts in a room of women willing to tell the truth.
Next Generation Women in Law is here to:
Offer space to speak honestly; without judgement or pressure
Connect across roles, generations, and lived experiences
Redefine what leadership, success, and power look like on our own terms
Build the confidence and courage to change the system from within
We’re not here to fix each other.
We’re here to support each other, challenge old norms, and imagine new possibilities.
Who It’s For
This breakfast is for any woman working in or around the legal profession, including (but not limited to):
Lawyers (private practice, in-house, public sector)
Legal ops and operations professionals
HR, L&D, and DEI leaders in legal organisations
Legal academics and policy professionals
Law students and graduates
Women returning to law or changing direction
Those at the edge of the profession who still feel its culture
You don’t have to be in a certain role or at a certain stage. Whether you’re just starting out or decades into your career, your voice matters. This is a multi-generational conversation and all experiences are welcome.
You just need to be ready for honest conversation, meaningful connection, and a new kind of leadership.
This space is fully inclusive.
We welcome women of all races, identities, roles, and backgrounds.
If you work in law and identify as a woman, you are welcome here.
Why “Next Generation Women”?
We called it Next Generation Women in Law because we believe the future of this profession depends on women coming together; across generations, across roles, and across experiences.
This isn’t about the next generation as an age group.
It’s about a next way of being in the profession. One that’s more human, more honest, and more connected.
Because here’s what we know:
When another woman shares her story; the real one, not the polished one she thinks she has to share …..
When she reaches out to you after a hard meeting or a moment of doubt ….
When you realise you’re not the only one feeling what you feel …..
That’s when something shifts.
The very thing that felt isolating becomes a source of strength.
A negative experience turns into a shared understanding.
And that’s how the culture starts to change, not through policies alone, but through conversations, courage, and connection.
That’s what this community is about.

-
Probably not. Many people attending won’t know others either. The event has been thoughtfully designed to be welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
-
Absolutely. Two hours out of the office can feel impossible but these two hours could change how you feel about your work, your network, and yourself. This is the launch of Next Generation Women in Law: the very first gathering where the connections, conversations, and culture of this network will begin. You’ll hear real stories, ask the questions you can’t at work, and meet like-minded women in Birmingham who believe we can change how it feels to be a woman in this profession. Be there from the start. Shape what this becomes. You’ll leave lighter and part of a network built on support, not competition.
-
This is the beginning of an intentional network. We’re starting with this breakfast so we can co-create what comes next - based on what women in the room really need.
-
Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. Smart-casual or workwear is fine, but there’s no dress code.
-
Only if you want to. You’re welcome to contribute, but there’s no pressure.
📣 Why This Matters
Because we don’t need another motivational keynote. We need each other.
This is the beginning of something new. A network built not on performance but on purpose, trust, and truth.
If that speaks to you, we hope you’ll join us.
